There are several ways that you can help or be a part of this special place.
We need donors, fosters, volunteers, committee memebers, social media experts, web designer and much more.
Fosters
We can't do it alone. We can save more lives if we have foster homes to send the animals to.
You can be a temporary foster or permanent foster for us.
Temporary Foster
If you are not sure if you are ready to add to your family, you can try our temporary foster program. You foster the animal you think you want to adopt to see if you make good fit for each other without going through the full adoption. If you decide you are ready you can finish the official adoption paperwork and if you decide you are not ready you can simply return the animal back to us or try a different one.
Foster
You can be one of our angels and foster dogs on regular basis for us until they are ready for Adoption.
Volunteers
There are several volunteer opportunities at the sanctuary. Depending upon your passion and available time you can find something that yyou are good at and want to debel into.
Playing and Socializing animals - Lot of our dogs have spent most of their lives as strays or tied to a tree. Sometimes they come with trust issues and are shy. Playing and socializing with them help them understand that they can trust humans again.
Walking & Leash Training - Lot of our dogs have spent most of their lives as strays or tied to a tree. Walking on a leash is a new experience which requires training and lot of trust. You can help these dogs getting adopted by helping us train them to walk on a leash.
Be a ride for our Vet Appointments - Drop and Pick up dogs at vet. If you have a flexible schedule you can help us once in a while by giving a ride to our 4 legged residents to and from vet appointments.
Take dogs to outside Adoption Events - We get invited to different outside adoption events. These are great opportunities for our adoptable animals to get exposure. We get lot of people who come to the sanctuary to adopt the dogs but there are lot more out there who don't know about us yet. These events bring us in front of potential adopters. We have locations available on Lake Conroe and in The Woodlands. You can help animals and enjoy spending time on the lake.
Natural Pawz has been out great supporter and allows us to bring animals to the store. You can meet animal lovers and spend the day hanging out at a great store with the animals.
Home visit and Screenings potential adopters - All our adoptions require a home visit before finalizing the adoption. You can be our eyes and ears and conduct home visits for us when time allows.
Clean Up - We need help keeping the sanctuary clean for our wards. you can spend few hrs a week keeping this place nice and clean so animals can enjoy healthy environment.
Marketing
Social Media Butterflies
We need help with marketing and exposure. If you are a Social Networking butterfly who loves connecting with people on Face Book, Twitting to the world and blogging, how about tweeting about our adoptable animals and posting them on Face Book. Time you spend on FB and Twitter make it mean something. blog about our new arrival, special cases and success stories.
Website and Petfinder
Help us keep our website updated.
We need to load our adoptables on pet finder regularly. It requires getting pictures that show their personalities and writting their story.
Fundraising
As any worthy cause it takes resources to save and heal these animals. Sometimes we get hit by high vet bills as too many critical cases arrive at the sanctuary. Sometimes we need to make extra space and other times we need help getting the food.
Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts Troops
If your kids are in Girl Scout or Boy Scout troop and looking for projects we have few they can lend a hand with
Donation boxes - They can be creative and make donation boxes for us. We provide the materials.
Adopt me Vests - We need help making adopt me vests
Food Drive - They can do a food drive for us
Adults
Do you have a hobby? Do you like to sew, quilt, embroider, paint or have any other artistic talent?
We need group of people who can make us adopt me vests, doggie quilts and comforters, dog toys and other items.
These will be used at the sanctuary and extras will be sold to raise funds.
Throw a fund raising party for us.
Have a B'day party and donate your gifts to the animals.
